FAMILY OF ANNA CHOATE AND AMOS LEVI CRABTREE
Anna Choate was born 7 November 1883 in North Springs, Jackson County, Tennessee and is the daughter of John Choate and Clarinda Fatima Wells. She is found on the 1900 Census age 17 living in Pickett County. (With Irene and John Story); her mothers sister. In 1910 she is living with her sister Lois and her husband James Reeves in Gainesboro, Tennessee. At 27 years old, she marries Amos Levi Crabtree in Jackson County, Tn. By 1920, as shown in the 1920 census, the family is living on Jennings Creek Road in Jackson County, Tennessee and she has 4 of her five children; Bernard age 7; Beryl L (shown above as Betty Laurine) age 5; Roy G. age 2 yrs 10 months, and Hazel age 1 month. Also living in her house are two children belonging to Amos from a previous marriage who are; Vernon V and Jewel. Anna passes away in 1945 at the age of 61. She is buried in Johnson Cemetery in Stone, Jackson County, Tennessee.

Amos Levi Crabtree was born 24 April 1877 in either Jackson or Madison County Tennessee. His first wife was Roxie "Rosie" Elizabeth Crabtree born 1882 and died in 1910. They had four children; Vernon 1901 - 1966; Ruby Jewel 1903-1988; Grovine 1906-1909 and Jamie who was born and died in 1910. Amos remarried Anna on 27 December 1911. Amos worked as a farmer, supporting his family and died on 2 August 1953. He is buried in Johnson Cemetery, in Stone, Jackson County, Tennessee.

Betty Laurine Crabtree was born 27 July 1914. On 9 October 1936 she marries Jack Leo Sadler and together they have three children. Betty Laurine Sadler died 12 November 1975 in Harville, Stark, Ohio. She was a widow at the time of her passing. Betty Laurine Crabtree and Jack Leo Sadler become the parents of Betty Loran Sadler; Billy Jack Sadler; and Joe Roy Sadler. Betty is buried in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery.

Roy Garland Crabtree was born 4 March 1917 in North Springs, Jackson County, Tennessee. Roy and Estelle got married on 8 January 1939 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. Roy and Estelle become the parents of Sue Rhea Crabtree. Roy Garland Crabtree dies in September of 1978 in Lebanon, Wilson County, Tennessee.

Hazel Louise Crabtree born 3 November 1919 in North Springs, Jackson, Tennessee. On 29 April 1944 she marries Harold Russell Caplinger. Hazel and Harold become the parents of Janet Leann Caplinger. From about 1935 to her death in 2008, Hazel lives in Liberty, DeKalb County, Tennessee. Hazel passed away on 10 August 2012 in the Laurels of Canton, Canton, Stark County, Ohio and is buried in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in Jackson County with her husband Harold.
Her Obituary read: "Hazel Crabtree Caplinger GAINESBORO -- Graveside services for Hazel Crabtree Caplinger, 92, of Canton, Ohio, formerly of North Springs in Jackson County, will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m.-3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Mrs. Caplinger died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, in Laurels of Canton in Canton, Ohio. She was born November 3, 1919, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Amos Crabtree and Anna Choate Crabtree. On April 29, 1944, she was married to the late Harold Caplinger. She was a retired beautician and homemaker. She was a member of the West Side Church of Christ in Akron, Ohio, and the Walton Chapel Church of Christ in Lafayette, TN. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 4 Brothers: Vernon, Bernard, Roy, and Robert Crabtree; and 2 Sisters: Jewell Keith and Laurine Sadler. Survivors include 1 Daughter: Janet Caplinger of Canton, Ohio; and 1 Special Niece: Pam Walrond of Lafayette, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Robert Davis Crabtree was born 29 April 1924 in North Springs, Jackson, Tennessee. He marries Gillon Cooper Carver on 21 August 1945 in Rossville, Georgia and together they become the parents of Linda LaVonne; Brenda Gillon; Pamela Jean: and Robert Nial Crabtree. About 1943 Robert enlists with the military and becomes a CPL US ARMY WORLD WAR II. On 25 November 1996, Robert passes away and is buried in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in Jackson County, Tennessee.
