Temple Ordinances

One of the missions of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is “to help bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man by inviting all people to come unto Christ and be perfected in Him.” This is one of the three main missions of the Church. Proclaiming the Gospel, Perfecting the Saints and Redeeming the Dead. Through these principles the Church shares its message with all the world. Family History has been an integral part of the Church since its restoration upon the earth. People who have died without these essential gospel ordinances may receive those ordinances through the work done in temples. Acting in behalf of ancestors and others who have died, Church members are baptized and confirmed, receive the endowment, and participate in the sealings of husband to wife and children to parents.
From President Thomas S. Monson, Prophet and President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (from 2008 to present) in an address given at the April 2011 conference in Salt Lake City he said: "Until you have entered the house of the Lord and have received all the blessings which await you there, you have not obtained everything the Church has to offer. The all-important and crowning blessings of membership in the Church are those blessings which we receive in the temples of God."
"Everything that occurs in the temple is uplifting and ennobling. It speaks of life here and life beyond the grave. It speaks of the importance of the individual as a child of God. It speaks of the importance of the family and the eternity of the marriage relationship." —Gordon B. Hinckley - President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (1995-2008)
From President Ezra Taft Benson, Prophet and President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints: (from 1985-1994) In May 1986 he wrote: "We have a sacred responsibility to fulfill the threefold mission of the Church—first, to teach the gospel to the world; second, to strengthen the membership of the Church wherever they may be; third, to move forward the work of salvation for the dead. There is no greater joy than bringing souls to Christ."
From Russell M. Nelson, Quorum of the Twelve of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints: In May of 2010 he wrote: "Our inborn yearnings for family connections are fulfilled when we are linked to our ancestors through sacred ordinances of the temple."
From James E. Faust, First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints: In May of 1997 he wrote: "We are a covenant-making people. These eternal blessings are for all who wish to worthily receive of them, both the living and the dead. In the mercy of God we are privileged to receive these blessings by proxy for our deceased ancestors who did not have this privilege in life. They, of course, may choose whether to accept these blessings. Our duty is to search out our forebears and give them the opportunity to accept and receive these blessings. As the Prophet Joseph Smith said, 'The greatest responsibility in this world that God has laid upon us is to seek after our dead' (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, sel. Joseph Fielding Smith [1976], 356)."
For these reasons and many others, I feel compelled to at least share the dates of the Temple Ordinances that the members of the family and members of the church have completed Temple Ordinances on behalf of all our ancestors. The work, as it is called, is ongoing and always will be. Below are individuals on this website, who have had their temple ordinance work done on their behalf.

Temple Ordinances are performed throughout the world for those deceased ancestors who may have gone before without ever hearing of the gospel. These are just a handful of the 165 LDS temples that dot the earth currently. Fifteen more are under construction and (as of this writing 8 Nov 2011) an additional sixteen more have been announced to be built. By clicking on the picture of each temple you can read about these magnificent structures and their history.
